Michelle Cowmeadow

Michele was born in London with both Celtic and Maori ancestry, (as a child her grandmother sent her Maori fairy tales from New Zealand). She studied Classics in Wales and worked for a few years in London for MAFF - moving to Cornwall at age 24. When her children started school Michele took a degree in Education and taught Art at Penzance Steiner School. She plays Cornish music regularly and is a member of several bands including the Golowan Band. Throughout her life Michele has enjoyed working in clay, and first exhibited her work in 1996 at Newlyn Art Gallery and Penlee House, joining Creftow, Helston in 2000. Michele concentrates on the decoration of her creations, bringing her love of the Classics to her posts, working in blue together with natural colours or gold and brown.
