Christie was born in Totola, the British Virgin Islands in 1970. She studied at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston U.S. before moving to London to study History of Art. Having worked as a muralist and set-painter, she moved to the Isle of Wight where she paints full time concentrating mainly on still lifes. Working in acrylic, she applies thin layers over a gesso base. Each delicate painting tells a story, as the items selected in each composition are often personally significant to Christie. Her work has a calm, spare quality and the influence of painters such as Mary Fedden and Ben Nicholson can be clearly seen, though she brings her own distinctive charm to the canvases. She has exhibited regularly in London since 2003, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition '08, and was shortlisted for the Sunday Times Watercolour competition in 2010.
